LadyCoders Productions is a Boulder based integrated marketing and web development agency. Its skilled staff and consultants develop brands, architect and execute marketing strategies, produce marketing materials, build web sites and manage large-scale events specifically for the tech industry.

LadyCoders Productions was started by Elaine Marino, a reformed Ad-girl hailing from both NYC and LA. While in the trenches of advertising she learned to manage large scale campaigns for million dollar clients like Delta Airlines and The Bank of New York Mellon. After learning to code she combined her marketing communications, event planning and project management skills with coding and created LadyCoders Productions.

Event Management

LadyCoders Productions produces and organizes small and large scale events specifically for the tech industry. Events in 2014 included the Coder Day of Service in New York City and 10+ events for Go Code Colorado including a Challenge Weekend with simultaneous events in 5 locations across the state of Colorado. Events range from large Galas to hack-a-thons to conferences. Size of events range from 25 to 300+. See the Portfolio section of this site for case studies on the events.

Strategic Marketing

LadyCoder Productions has a long history building and growing brands. The owner of LadyCoders Productions was on the team that re-launched Delta Airlines out of bankruptcy, part of the team that built the new brand of BNY Mellon when The Bank of New York and Mellon Bank merged, and she worked on countless name brands such as TIME Magazine, Virgin Mobile, Nextel and Dave & Buster’s. Strategic Marketing is part of our DNA, the foundation from which we work with all clients to ensure that every touch point and consumer interaction is carefully plotted and accurate to the brand.

Project Management

Whether managing a multifaceted, large-scale event, strategic marketing initiative, or a Ruby on Rails site, we believe in the importance of clear communication, timelines and metrics. Each project we manage will have one key owner who works with tasking software to keep teams informed and projects moving forward. Timeliness, efficiency and all with a smile is just how we do business.

Ruby on Rails

While marketing, events and project management do keep us busy, there is nothing more that we love than building, fixing and de-bugging Ruby on Rails sites. Small to mid-size sites are our specialty.

CONSISTENCY

In February I became an honoree of the 40 under 40 Boulder Valley award from Biz West. It was a true honor to be recognized for my work, especially the work I do to increase diversity in technology. Standing next to the other 40 honorees was also an incredible honor — not sure if you are aware but there are some seriously amazing folks doing some seriously amazing work in Boulder Valley.

Oddly, we all had to pick a prop to take a photo with — a hobby prop, not a business prop. The organizers also requested baby pictures for the awards ceremony. So I called Mom, and she sent photos. And then I asked my sister for help finding a prop. We decided on my favorite book, Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. When the photos came from Mom, the baby photo of me included me holding a book. I knew I always loved to read, but I used the term “always” loosely. Guess it has been ALWAYS.

Congrats to all the honorees!

TALKING TOO MUCH.

I have been talking a lot lately. Anyone who knows me, knows that this is of no surprise. I’m a talker. But lately, I’ve been asked to talk. (The talker in me is very proud of this.) I’ve been asked by OSCON and SalesForce and a few private companies to come and tell them how they can grow developers and grow diversity. Continue Reading

SAVVY GOVERNMENT

Government is not known for being cutting-edge, lean, exciting, fast-paced or technologically savvy. And yet, there is a movement within local governments to be just that—technologically savvy for the betterment of citizens and budgets.

TURNING PROFESSIONAL HUMILIATION ON ITS HEAD

I bombed my first technical interview. It might be the most humiliating professional thing to happen to me. Actually, it might be the most humiliating thing to happen to me, ever.
